Webdes News - Feb'04 - Tue, 10-Feb-2004New Module: Newsletter / Articles & Issue publishingTue, 10-Feb-2004
Webdes has released a new 'free to use' module across all ezSites; a newsletter publishing system. This new module includes a subscription service which can be used to send email notification of a each new issue as they are published. It allows 'offline' work, creating a new issue before being published to visitors, as such content can be prepared before the publishing date.
This bulletin is published using the new module. Links and images are also published within the content of the articles. - URLS within the body of the articles are automaticlly replaced with HTML to make links: [ ::LINK:: ] is an example of this; hover your mouse over the link identifer, and you will see the URL. An extensive working example of this new module is available here: [ ::LINK:: ] - Users can subscribe to this new system, the subscription mechanism uses a confirmation email for subscription activation. - This is a responsible approach to mailing systems as it encourages confirmation of email addresses before any content is sent to them. - This cuts down on the amount of badly addressed email which circulates, and bounces within the internet, it also provides a level of comfort to users knowing that they cannot be subscribed to this service without their own consent. Unsubscription is available at any time to the users through clicking a link which is made available on every send out. - This minimises the amount of work which you, the site owner have to do in order to maintain a clean and working mailing list. - It's a true OPT IN system, which is by far the most preferable way of operating any email sendout system. As always, ALL emails are individually addressed, with NO public disemmination of any mailing list. So subscribers details are strongly protected. - The site owner is the only party who has access to see the addresses in use, as they can select which of the receipients should receive each email notification which they send out.
